Kony System Administration
Course Description
This three-day instructor-led course for system administrators provides participants with the knowledge and skills required for understanding hosting infrastructure, middleware architecture and installation, and configuring web server - Weblogic. This course also covers device database architecture, disaster recovery, known issues, and troubleshooting. In addition, it also covers the essentials of the Kony middleware monitoring process.
Course Objectives
After completing this course, participants will be able to:
- Understand the architecture, components, and data flow of the Kony App server
- Get a detailed understanding of hosting infrastructure
- Get a detailed understanding of middleware architecture
- Set up message queues and their interaction with the reporting agent and database
- Understand device database architecture

Course Prerequisites
Working knowledge and should be familiar with Linux, web server Weblogic, Oracle database and an understanding of web technologies.

Setting up Kony Database Schema and Reporting Agents
- KONY USER DB Schema, KONYLOGDB Schema, KONY DEVICE DB Schema, and KONY REPORTS DB Schema
- Configuring the reporting agent, ‘Konylogdeamon’
Setting up the Middleware Environment
- Weblogic
- Known issues on the middleware
Security Measures
- Addressing OWASP top 10 vulnerabilities
- Security implementation: SSL certificates, port scanning mechanism, and other security features
Monitoring
- Middleware service availability
- Live demo of WAS Monitoring tool - Manage Engine
Maintenance
- Middleware upgrades and applying patches and middleware backup methodologies
- Day-to-day operational management: Log files management/analysis, Track SSL certificates, and middleware licenses, DR site validation, and System audit
Troubleshooting the Environment
- General errors
- Trouble shooting by reviewing middleware logs and web server logs
